Gabbronorite CRM – Black Hill, SA, AU

Previous QMX Code: AC18.10659.0100

A suite of seven geochemical certified reference materials from Analytichem, designed for global use across government, private, and academic geoanalytical laboratories. These CRMs are ideal for validating “total digest” analytical methods and are indispensable for laboratory quality control programs.

This includes a diverse range of geological rock types, from fresh gabbronorite to oxidized siltstone, addressing a growing demand for high-quality litho-geochemical reference materials. These CRMs are tailored to meet the needs of both commercial and public-sector geoscientists and geochemists, offering reliable standards across various rock types.

Manufactured and certified by AnalytiChem’s manufacturing facility, OREAS in Australia, these CRMs benefit from advanced production technology ensuring exceptional homogeneity across the range.

  • ISO 17034-accredited Certified Reference Materials
  • Extremely homogenous due to proprietary milling and blending process
  • Ideal for using multi-elemental analysis methods - XRF, ICP, INAA, pXRF, LIBS
  • Packaged in small glass jars, for easy handling and storage
  • Comprehensive suite of certified values for up to 58 elements and
  • Additional geochemical characterisation by fusion XRF and Laser ablation with ICP-MS finish

Unit Size: 50g

Gabbronorite rock sourced from an operating (Black Hill) quarry, located about 85 km east from the city of Adelaide (South Australia). This light grey, Cambro-Ordovician rock forms part of a large gabbroic intrusion. Mineralogy of this material typically consists of mainly sodic labradorite plagioclase (49%), K-feldspar (13%), biotite (11%), augite and hypersthene clinopyroxenes (10%) with minor amounts of dolomite – ankerite (5%), magnetite (4%) quartz (4%) and calcic amphibole (2%).
