Vial Cleaning System

The Vial Cleaning System from Savillex provides the safest and most efficient method for cleaning PFA vials and labware.

• For cleaning PFA vials and labware by heated soaking
• Large 4L capacity PFA jar with flat bottom for even heating on a hotplate
• Maximum surface temperature of hotplate for vial cleaning system is 230°C
• System components: cleaning container, cleaning container lid, sealing ring, vent nut assembly, pour spout assembly, ½” cap nut and silicone grip mat
• Included silicone grip mat holds container in place when sealing ring is tightened or removed
• Vial Rack System designed specifically for use with the vial cleaning system to hold vials and closures

Moulded from high purity PFA, the vial cleaning system is designed specifically for heated soaking, and is a superior, unbreakable alternative to glass beakers traditionally used for cleaning PFA labware. The vial cleaning system is fully enclosed which not only eliminates airborne contamination, but also prevents acid loss due to evaporation.

The matching cleaning container lid fits securely on the vial cleaning system and prevents unwanted contamination from entering the vial cleaning system during the cleaning process whilst a removable pour spout enables safe emptying of cleaning acid for easier removal of cleaned components.

When heated to 90°C, a 4 L glass beaker filled with water and covered with a watch glass will lose almost 50% of its contents to evaporation within 48 hours (see figure below).

The fully enclosed vial cleaning system loses only 0.1% of its volume at the same time and temperature. In use, this eliminates the need for continual monitoring, saves on acid cost and is better for the environment.

Unlike glass beakers, the vial cleaning system is highly durable and will not crack or shatter if it is dropped even when full. A removable pour spout allows cleaning solution to be safely drained, and enables cleaned contents to be removed safely. The vial cleaning system is resistant to all mineral acids and can be used to clean components at or close to the boiling point of dilute acids.

A range of vial rack systems designed specifically for use with the vial cleaning system, are also available. Vial rack systems, hold vials and closures upright during cleaning, eliminating air pockets, and also facilitate the loading and unloading of the vial cleaning system. In combination, these systems provide a complete solution for the acid cleaning of Savillex PFA vials, closures and many other types of labware.
